Engineers Sales-Service Co., Inc. -- now simply known as ESSCO -- was established in 1947 as a distributor for boilers and pumping equipment. The firm incorporated in 1954 and stopped selling boilers in early 1955 to concentrate on the design and manufacture of pumps and control panels. A long-time ESSCO distributor, Sunair Co. features the ESSCO Vortex 100% Recessed Impeller Pump among our many products offerings.
Designed around a simple operational principle, the ESSCO Vortex's impeller spins in an area of the volute completely outside the liquid flow path. The spinning creates a vortex similar to that found in a toilet bowl when it is flushed or a tornado; however, since the impeller is not in the flow path of the volute, the Vortex is capable of handling liquids containing long, stringy or large diameter solids, slurries or a combination of viscous textures without plugging up. So long as whatever substance goes into the pump suction has a diameter smaller than the discharge connection, the ESSCO Vortex can handle it!
ESSCO is a member of the Hydraulic Institute and all performance tests are conducted to meet the standards set forth by the Institute. All ESSCO pumps are cast, manufactured, assembled and tested in the United States.
